Southwest Youth & Family Services

The Youth Guidance BAM program and Southwest Youth & Family Services are excited to share that BAM is now serving  275 students in partnership with Highline Public Schools.

Southwest Youth & Family Services in Southwest King County has served children and families in Southwest for 40 years and will now deliver BAM in four schools this year: Chinook Middle School, Highline High School, Sylvester Middle School, and Tyee High School.

BAM is a trauma-informed school-based counseling, mentoring, and character development program for vulnerable young men  in grades 7-12.

BAM counselors work full-time within schools to guide young men in the exploration and development of six core values: Integrity, Accountability, Self-Determination, Positive Anger Expression, Respect for Womanhood, and Visionary Goal-Setting.

To ensure sustainability, a BAM Advisory Council has also been implemented. Each council member has a strong desire be actively involved in solving the issues inner-city youth face, and will devote their time, talent and expertise to the current and future work of the program.

Our mission is to partner with youth and families to transform their futures.
